LAWRENCE PARK NEIGHBOURHOOD

History
The Dovercourt Land Building and Saving Company founded Lawrence Park in 1907. They obtained the land from John Lawrence, after whom this neighbourhood is named. Under the guidance of this company, Lawrence Park was established as an upper class residential area. In fact, the first advertisement called it an “aristocratic neighbourhood.”
Homes, Shopping and Recreation

Today Lawrence Park remains one of Toronto's most exclusive residential neighbourhoods. The location provides a relaxing setting with gently rolling hills, winding roads and luxurious greenery. Homes in Lawrence Park are available in architectural styles such as English Cottage, Tudor Revival, Georgian and Colonial. The majority of the homes were built between 1910 and the late 1940's. Housing prices range from $900,000 to $2,000,000+. The higher priced homes are newly built with the latest architectural designs and amenities. With all these fabulous features in a wonderful neighbourhood, it is no surprise that these homes are highly sought after.
Another reason why this elite family-friendly neighbourhood is in such demand is the first-rate education choices for children, such as Lawrence Park Collegiate and the Toronto French School.
Transportation is highly accessible to residents in Lawrence Park, as many bus routes run along Yonge Street, Mount Pleasant Road, Bayview Avenue, and Lawrence Avenue. The Lawrence subway station, which is located at the intersection of Yonge and Lawrence, provides easy access to downtown Toronto.
There are many upscale shopping attractions for Lawrence Park residents, including fashion stores, children's stores, sporting goods stores, gift shops, bakeries, and gourmet coffee shops.
